Attractors of a randomly forced electronic

This paper examines an electronic oscillator forced by a pseudo-random noise signal. We give evidence of the existence of one or more random at-tractors for the system depending on noise amplitude and system parameters. These random attractors may appear to be random xed points or random chaotic attractors. In the latter case, we observe a form of intermittent synchronization of the response of...

Randomly forced DNA.

We study the effect of random forces on a double-stranded DNA in unzipping the two strands, analogous to the problem of an adsorbed polymer under a random force. The ground state develops bubbles of various lengths as the random force fluctuation is increased. The unzipping phase diagram is shown to be drastically different from the pure case.

Structure of attractors in randomly connected networks.

The deterministic dynamics of randomly connected neural networks are studied, where a state of binary neurons evolves according to a discrete-time synchronous update rule. We give theoretical support that the overlap of systems' states between the current and a previous time develops in time according to a Markovian stochastic process in large networks. This Markovian process predicts how often...

Collapse of a randomly forced particle : a comment

We refute the arguments by Anton in cond-mat/0004390, which set out to disprove the existence of a collapse transition for a randomly forced inelastic particle. An eprint by Anton [1] has recently appeared on this archive, criticizing our proposal of a collapse transition for an inelastic, randomly-forced particle [2]. Our conclusions were that a particle forced by Gaussian white noise that reb...

Strange Attractors for Periodically Forced Parabolic Equations

We prove that in systems undergoing Hopf bifurcations, the effects of periodic forcing can be amplified by the shearing in the system to create sustained chaotic behavior. Specifically, strange attractors with SRB measures are shown to exist. The analysis is carried out for infinite dimensional systems, and the results are applicable to partial differential equations. Application of the general...
